The History of Michigan Banker Magazine:
Michigan Banker magazine, and its predecessor magazines Michigan Tradesman and Michigan Banking and Business News, has been in business since the early ‘70s.
Started by the late Jerome H. O’Neil and named Michigan Banker in 1988, the magazine is the editorial “voice” of Michigan’s banking industry. Today Jerry’s son, Greg O’Neil, is CEO and publisher and he carries on the publishing tradition.
Michigan Banker is a monthly magazine that covers the Great Lakes State’s banks and bankers by providing news and information, opinion and feature articles, financial stories, and more.
Michigan Banker focuses exclusively on the commercial banking community in Michigan. More specifically, it is edited for the presidents, CEOs and employees of Michigan’s commercial banking industry; and for the supplier firms that provide goods and services to the banking and financial industry.
Michigan Banker’s paid subscriber base consists of the presidents, key executives and board members who are the decision makers for Michigan’s commercial banks. There are over 140 banks in Michigan and our circulation is exclusively targeted to reach this multi-billion dollar industry — both the Magazine and Website are excellent advertising venues to reach commercial banking market.
Michigan Banker also regularly publishes a variety of by-lined columns authored by individuals considered to be knowledgeable in their respective fields; and who have a valuable message to share with Michigan’s banking community. Opinions in these columns are of the authors and do not necessarily represent the opinions of the staff members of Michigan Banker.
